Agenda item: Addressing the waves of refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers and their impacts on the social order
The global waves of refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers are reshaping societies, presenting both challenges and opportunities that demand urgent attention. As millions flee conflict, persecution, and economic instability, host countries grapple with strained resources, rising social tensions, and threats to national identities. Yet, within these challenges lie opportunities for enrichment through diversity, innovation, and resilience.
The United Nations General Assembly’s Third Committee (SOCHUM) is committed to addressing this complex issue by fostering global dialogue and crafting sustainable solutions. The goal is to uphold the rights of displaced populations while ensuring the social cohesion of host communities, transforming this crisis into a powerful testament to global solidarity and progress.
